marital quality of life
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-based skill training on distress tolerance, emotional cognitive regulation, and marital quality of life in women with recurrent miscarriages. Methods: The population consisted of all women attending infertility clinics in Tehran during 2019-2020. A sample of 30 women was selected through convenience and purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (15 in each group). The instruments used in this study included: the Distress Tolerance Scale by Simons and Gaher (2005), Cognitive and Emotional Regulation Scale by Garnefski, Kraaij, and Spinhoven (2006), and Marital Quality of Life Scale by Fletcher, Simpson, and Thomas (2000). Repeated measures and a significance level of .05 were used for statistical analysis. Findings: The results showed significant differences in means between the two groups at pre-test, post-test, and follow-up stages, with significant improvements in distress tolerance, emotional cognitive regulation, and marital quality of life. The effect sizes of this treatment were 0.885, 0.910, and 0.983, respectively. Conclusion: Given the confirmed effectiveness of the treatment, it is recommended that these women receive psychological treatments in conjunction with medical treatments.

Methods: The statistical population consisted of all women who visited infertility clinics in Tehran in 2019-2020. A sample of 30 women was selected using convenience and purposive sampling methods, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and was randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (15 women in each group). The questionnaires used in this study were the Distress Tolerance Questionnaire by Simons and Gaher (2005), the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire by Garnefski, Kraaij, and Spinhoven (2006), and the Marital Quality of Life Questionnaire by Fletcher, Simpson, and Thomas (2000). The statistical method used was repeated measures, with a significance level of 0.05. Findings: According to the results, the differences in means between the two groups in the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up stages were significant. There were significant differences in distress tolerance, cognitive emotion regulation, and marital quality of life between the two groups. The dialectical behavior therapy-based skills training had an impact on the variables of distress tolerance, cognitive emotion regulation, and marital quality of life, with effect sizes of 0.885, 0.910, and 0.983, respectively. Conclusion: Given the confirmed effectiveness of this therapy, it is recommended that these women receive appropriate psychological treatments alongside medical treatments.
Effectiveness of Integrative Systemic-Psychodynamic-Behavioral Couples Therapy on Marital Quality of Life in Dysfunctional Couples Referred to Counseling Centers(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of integrative systemic-psychodynamic-behavioral couples therapy on marital quality of life in dysfunctional couples referred to counseling centers in Ahvaz. Methods: The research design was a single-case experimental design. The study population included all dysfunctional couples who visited counseling centers in Ahvaz in 2019. A convenience sampling method was used, selecting three couples with low marital quality of life, who then received integrative systemic-psychodynamic-behavioral couples therapy over 12 sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours. The Perceived Marital Quality Dimensions Questionnaire (Fletcher et al., 2000) was used in this study. To analyze the data, visual analysis, the stability index, and the percentage of improvement were used. Findings: The results showed that the stability index during both the treatment and follow-up phases was significant. The overall percentage of improvement also indicated that the effectiveness of integrative systemic-psychodynamic-behavioral therapy on marital quality of life in dysfunctional couples, based on Blanchard’s classification, fell within the "slight improvement" category during both the treatment and follow-up phases, which generally suggested the success of the intervention in improving marital quality of life in dysfunctional couples. Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that integrative systemic-psychodynamic-behavioral couples therapy can lead to an improvement in marital quality of life.
Comparison of the Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy on Marital Quality of Life and Sexual Communication Intelligence in Couples with Marital Conflicts(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) on marital quality of life and sexual communication intelligence in couples experiencing marital conflicts. Methods: This study was applied in terms of its objective and employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest structure, a two-month follow-up, and a control group for data collection. The statistical population consisted of all couples aged 25 to 40 who had marital conflicts and visited counseling and psychology clinics in District 13 of Tehran in 2023. From this population, 45 couples were selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included the Sexual Communication Intelligence Questionnaire (Dehkordi et al., 2021) and the Marital Quality of Life Questionnaire (Babci et al., 1995), which were completed by the couples. One group underwent Solution-Focused Therapy in eight 90-minute sessions, while the other group received Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in ten 90-minute sessions. Data analysis was conducted using repeated measures ANOVA in SPSS software. Findings: The results indicated that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy had a positive effect on marital quality of life and sexual communication intelligence. Additionally, Solution-Focused Therapy was also effective in improving these two components (p < .05). Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of both therapeutic approaches—Solution-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy—on marital quality of life and sexual communication intelligence. A comparison of the two methods revealed that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy was more effective than Solution-Focused Therapy.
A Causal Model of Marital Quality of Life Based on Resilience with the Mediating Role of Sexual Satisfaction in Married Teachers(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: This study aimed to investigate a causal model of marital quality of life based on psychological resilience with the mediating role of sexual satisfaction in married teachers. Methods and Materials: The research employed a descriptive-correlational design using structural equation modeling (SEM). The sample consisted of 375 married teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire by Hudson et al., and the Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS) by Busby et al. Descriptive statistics and inferential analyses were conducted using SPSS and AMOS software. Assumptions of normality, linearity, and multicollinearity were checked and confirmed prior to model testing. Findings: The results revealed a significant direct effect of resilience on marital quality of life (β = 0.42, p < 0.001), indicating that higher resilience is associated with greater marital quality among married teachers. However, the indirect effect of resilience on marital quality of life through sexual satisfaction was not statistically significant (β = 0.10, p = 0.113), suggesting that sexual satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between resilience and marital well-being in this population. Model fit indices confirmed the adequacy of the proposed model (χ²/df = 2.54, RMSEA = 0.05, CFI = 0.94, NFI = 0.91, GFI = 0.95, AGFI = 0.93). Conclusion: Resilience plays a crucial and independent role in enhancing marital quality of life among married teachers, while sexual satisfaction, despite its overall importance, does not serve as a mediating factor in this relationship. The findings underscore the importance of psychological strengths in marital dynamics and suggest the need for interventions that enhance resilience to promote relational well-being, especially in high-stress professional contexts.
